Letters from the Broken Coast

I have a new book coming out called Letters from the Broken Coast. It’s an anthology of five letters I wrote while canoe-tripping on Georgian Bay and it will be illustrated with my paintings.

Actually, these letters have all appeared here, at least in partial form. Substack has proven to be a fertile place to try out experiments and posting here helped me conceive the idea. But now that those posts are destined for print it felt right to pull them off. So they’re gone until Letters from the Broken Coast is available for sale.

When I announced the book on Instagram I said it was “about Foxsnakes, an ancient journey, Spotted Turtles, death, and a familiar stranger I met out in the open water”.

I had better not say too much more and just let Letters from the Broken Coast do its own talking when it is available. You’ve seen the cover (above), and pasted below are the images that will open for each letter.
